You're only a 54% favorite. Basically a coinflip. Skeptix wins coinflips.

That might have something to do with not limping Q9s

Indeed. I wouldn't have minded this as much though, since theres a big stack in, BUT, a short stack limped in UTG. How ready are you to fold top pr. or throw away a draw? If you are, then maybe the limp is OK, maybe.

Limp was on spot.2 people allready in before plus blinds and one more I have all the odds I need so your wiseguy crapolas are out of place.

And to the other bokunori poster,Id look for something stronger than that. With suited card I allways go for flush. No problem throwing away top pair with 9 kicker.

KHSPoker21 Feb 18, 2007 2:44am

With an M of 10-15, I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be limping.

Axis of Evil Feb 18, 2007 4:14am

Definitely want to raise pre-flop or don't get involved. Q9s isn't strong enough to be calling so you want to push out as many players as possible or maybe take down the blinds. Other than that, once you go all in with the straight, which I would probably have done myself, there is nothing you can do about that turn spade hitting and probably didn't even see it coming. If it wasn't for the up and down straight flush draw that guy might even have folded. Everyone wants to see if they can get that monster hand with that draw. That one is tough to stomach.

Skeptix would have raised that Q9 up if it was a FT.

From watching a few he puts on constant pressure - doesn't really matter all the time what hand he holds. He seems to go off opponents style stack and position then when favorable plays A2C* very aggressively.

*maybe not any 2 but hands that will only be a 65/35 underdog against overpairs etc.

I agree with the people here fold the Q9 or raise it (i'd go with fold). Q9 doesn't play THAT well multiway. QJs or JTs would be a diffrent story.

at a loose table you wanna play tight, at a tight table you wanna play loose.

this advice should be very obvious, but you dont seem to understand it.

As I see the guy UTG limp K9o and get AI on the flop tells me the table is very loose. On a loose table you make money with value bets. You dont make money on bluffs. Q9 isnt a hand capable of making any value bets, cause even when you flop 2 pair your hand is very vurnerable. You might argue it is a good drawing hand. thats right, but your stack doesnt allow any drawing. for drawing you need implied odds, and you dont have those with 20BB. Thus you should fold this hand preflop.

once you flop the nuts there is little you can do.
