bad play?

Playing poker the other night. Im behind SB/BB. ($1/$2) I pick up QS 7H.

4 people limp in while I also limp in. Flop comes 10 10 Q. Guy in middle position raises to 12. I put in 15, everyone folds while he calls.

Turn comes; 10. He checks, I put in 25 he calls.

River comes; *8s

I raise to 50. He puts me all in. i call (with 35 left). he flips 10 J.

Im thinking I should of re-raised to 30 post flop. If he calls I realize he should have a 10 in his hand. any input?

You should realize he has a 10 in his hand when he bets post-flop. If anything you put him on a queen with a better kicker than 7. But yes, raising $3 on his $12 will tell you nothing.

I thought that was a typo, how are you allowed to raise by $3 and what would be the point? I thought he meant 15 more, not extra 3.
