Shorthanded AAxx fold... help please

PokerStars Pot-Limit Omaha, $0.50 BB (5 handed) - PokerStars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB ($37.60)
Hero (BB) ($48.65)
UTG ($52.10)
MP ($50)
Button ($44.35)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Ahttp://www.flopturnriver.com/pokerfo...lies/heart.gif, 7http://www.flopturnriver.com/pokerfo...es/diamond.gif, Qhttp://www.flopturnriver.com/pokerfo...lies/spade.gif, Ahttp://www.flopturnriver.com/pokerfo...lies/spade.gif
1 fold, MP bets $1.75, 1 fold, SB raises to $5.75, 1 fold, MP calls $4

Total pot: $12

MP is TAG - Doesn't raise much so I respect the prelop pot bet as a decent rundown hand or two pairs
SB is uber-LAG - Has been pot betting uncontested pots preflop from any pos every hand. re-pot seems to indicate he will go to the felt with any cards pre- or post flop. IMO, he won't be pushed off of ANYthing that hits him on the flop.

I felt that this was a re-pot or fold situation. Flatting between raisers was out of the question. I folded because I felt this hand was not great three handed if it went all-in preflop. Someone could have one of my aces and my 7d was a dead card for drawing. So I saved myself the $5.75 or possibly more.

Is this the right thought process or mind set with a hand like this? Even short-handed. To stay out of a raising war multi-handed?

I can post the whole hand afterwards.

I love when KC quotes Tennyson.

I honestly can't tell if you're trolling. If you are... haha. If you aren't... umm... dude... re-pot it.

If you're $90 deep I actually like that you ask the question here and this is actually a difficult spot since the stack to pot ratio will suck postflop. $37 effective vs SB you can commit pre against the repotter, who can have kings if he's bad, so jam it and it's not close.

Here is how the hand played out in the end. SB hit top two pair on the flop and forced action. His hand held. Not sure how the SB would have responded to a re-pot from me preflop (to ~$26). I honestly felt he could flat or repot all-in with any 4 cards. BTW, SB was from the Ukraine and his style was aggression, aggression, aggression preflop.

I'm trying to figure out how to play AAxx post flop, especially when you whiff at your set, the flop is trash (no redraws) and you get aggression before you. At what stack/pot ratio do you call anything vs folding to a leadout pot bet or even to a check-raise?

Thanks

If you only have, say, 25% or less of your stack invested preflop with AAxx and completely airball the flop, you can fold if someone leads out for the pot (unless they're just completely erratic and insane). On this particular hand though, you can get so much of your stack in preflop against the small blind that the flop doesn't matter: you're going to raise all-in if he leads the flop for the pot. Other reasons it's a good play are because: he might just fold preflop and he might just re-pot you preflop.

Look at it this way: if your opponent could see this thread, he'd be so glad you folded instead of re-potting.
