I'm wondering what the best way to learn PLO would be.

Watch video's on a training site like dc/stox/cr or purchase a good (read: high rated) PLO book.

Feel free to ask PLO-related questions on these forums too. There are a few pretty decent players around here including SwoopAE who finished 18th in last year's $1,500 PLO event at the WSOP.

You could always try playing one buy-in, play pretty tight and observe more than play. If you do win, it's because of good variance. The variance is insane, so know that going in.

best for starters are always books. vids at coaching sites only if they are specifically for beginners/transitioners.

Rolf Slotboom (cool name btw, sounds like he manage to prosper from the evil casino slots :D) has written a book about PL-Omaha which I think is a good introduction.
