Tips for a online newbie / before I register

Hi All,

I am new to this game (at least online), and I just want some tips from you guys on how to start with playing online poker. I am planning to start straight away with a 200 dollar deposit :-). I have several open questions:
- On which poker room to start?
- Which bonus to use, or start without any bonus?
- Can I start with only a no deposit bonus or do I always have to deposit?
- Which are sites with the weakest fields? < probably best site for me ;-)
Hope you guys can give me some answers :)

Thanks M.

First of all welcome to the forum.

Not a lot of posters left in here anymore but would help to know if you are a US player or not. Depending on where you live will depend on what poker rooms are available to you.

One potentially profitable maneuver in tournament poker is to misinterprete the action, get everything wrong, put a lot of chips in at the wrong moment and get saved by a weird suck-out win. (If you try this in cash games you will lose your
bankroll)

The best moments to setup for a suck-out win are apparently preflop and occasionally on the flop (for example open-ended straight draws). On the turn and river you usually have to play poker instead of lotteries where the gain can be big but the probability to win is low.

(omg I posted on Ptips, there is something groundbreaking going on)
