If you have cable internet, don't they provide a dial-up backup? Very slow, but might be enough to play. If not, what would a back-up dial-up service cost? Around here, you can get if for USD $10-15 a month. With the kind of stakes you're talking about, sounds like cheap insurance. If dial-up isn't fast enough, how about basic DSL service from the phone company? Maybe USD $25 here -- again, cheap insurance for high stakes. GL.
