I don't know how many people out there play Omaha, but as you can see, I flopped the nuts and middle set and had to fold on the turn. I think another A was the only card in the deck I remotely had to even consider worrying about.

I really though he had AQ but turns out I didn't even have one out if I called and would have to have called another pot bet on the river with my K's full of A's.

I've never felt better than seeing him show the AK there.

What do you guys think? A point can be made that a pot bet preflop mighta made AK97 fold, who knows...

I don't play a lot of Omaha, but I do know that this isn't really a great laydown. Make no mistake, you had good discipline to lay down the hand, but you have to pretty much have the absolute best hand possible to win in Omaha.

Note-You didn't flop the nuts, not even close. AA beats you and so does JT.

the point is he has JT, thats why he said he flopped the nuts with mid set. i cant lay down these hands even though i know i am beat (thats why i am a bad omaha player). i know a straight is unstable in omaha. but my trips turn into a boat too. dont know what to pray for. you dont want two low cards to split the pot. you dont want a J or a T for a slpit. you dont want a flush. and you dont want an ace even though that would give you a boat.

Ya that was actually a pretty standard laydown in Omaha. Not to discount it or anything, but I think about anyone who is good at Omaha would have made the same play. Nice play.

with his trips turning into a boat there was no possible low cuz there were 2 aces on the board

Raise this on the flop, you're practically free rolling this guy. Good laydown on the turn since the pot was so small.
