Default beat: i am a donk (first FT inside)

played a 10$ MTT on stars.
finished 8th which sucks big time out of like 1200+
played 7 hours and lost like a huge donk
i actually had to go but still...
i came into the FT 5th.
i raise with AQ, get min-raised, I call.
flop comes Q high, i shove and get called by the Aces.
stupidest move i have made all game long.

took 200$
its good that i made it that far, but i think i could of finished at least 4th.

the good thing is my BR is finally moving up.
i can play 25nl!! yeppee

Maybe I'm a donk too, but what's so bad about this play? Need a little more information on stack sizes and whatnot but it sounds like an okay play to me.

At micros, the min reraise often screams ACES, but doesn't guarantee it. I probably would have done the same, but yeah, without stack sizes and stuff, it's hard to know if it was a bad move or not.

it was a bad move because the FT was the tightest thing ever.
everyone just folded
so when he min raised me i knew he has something good, didnt think AA.
me and the other guy had pretty much the same stack sizes, i think about 20BB.

anyways hope ill make it into another FT soon!!

I've blown chips leads at the FT and lost making worse plays than that. It's good you got that far, just keep on doing what your doing and you'll end up ahead.

thanks for the advice

i made another FT, this time a 5$ no blind increase, ante increase.
came again into the FT 5/9. finished 7th \=

from the two FT i've been too, they are very tight. how should i play against that? i try and increase my chip lead, since they fold a lot. should i tighten up as well?

next FT i will take no less than 1st!

This basically, you should post the hand history.

Making a final table in a 1200 person field is no small feat, well done.
