Default Odds for best two poker hands?

Hi all,

I recently was having a home game and this hand came up

Flop
QS JS 2C

Turn
5H

River
10S

Player 1 had 9S 8S
Player 2 had AS KS

Now it was quite remarkable witnessing the two best hands in poker in a heads up situation, and just the odds of a Royal Flush is in the hundreds of thousands to one, but have the best possible straight flush in the hand too?

Could someone who is good at math tell me what the odds of these two hands appearing in a single hand?

Thanks

For two players playing heads up who never fold: 702368939:1.

So about 1/4 as likely as hitting the powerball jackpot in the states. My guess is the dealer switched decks or you're full of shit. I have been proven wrong before many times.

KC, I'll reply in the other thread when I get some time tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply killcrazy.
700 million to 1, I did not expect it to be that high!

There were 6 of us at the table that witnessed it. Dealer definitely didn't switch the deck lol, dealer wasn't even playing in the hand, it's just a home game with friends playing for low stakes one Friday night.

We no hustlers here lol

I recently read a reddit thread "What is something you have seen that no one will ever believe". This instantly came to my mind as when I tell people about it, you can see it in their eyes that they don't quite believe me. Knowing the odds of it happening probably won't help me either now

the more folks at the table the more likely it is to happen, obviously. since we didn't know how many there were, i did it with 2, because 2 was easy.

here's the thing though; if someone had four aces against four kings we'd be asking for the odds of that happening instead.

there are an infinite number of possible events to which we ascribe some kind of significance. the probability of /something/ unusual and/or significant happening at any given moment is actually quite high.

something i've seen that nobody will ever believe...does God count?
