How many people (percentage) take advantage of the invite-bonuses and invite people?

How many do they invite (roughly average)?
I reckon you must be doing some sort of research...ask enough questions, write the school essay.... that sort of thing.

Anyhow, I've only ever invited one person, but my wife wasn't interested. Saw someone bombard a popular forum in the UK (by popular, I mean one with up to 2000 members and guests online at any time, and topics going off screen in 15 minutes tops). Struck me that if only a tiny fraction took up his offer, at $25 per new member, he'd have done ok. I replied to him that if he was willing to split his bonus 50/50 I'd sign up. He never replied; too busy spamming I expect.

I'd estimate only maybe 25% take advantage of the invite-bonuses.

Average of maybe 1.5?

These are just shot-in-the-dark guesses here.

Online poker is a place to hone your mathematical skills for the live games. I know there are people out there who have played online poker for a long time and have never sat down at a live table. There is a giant black hole in their cold, dead souls, and I pity them.
SlightlyAskew (only slightly?), I appreciate your sentiments, but not the conclusion. Not knowing what you mean by 'a long time', you must remember that some of us don't have access to regular live poker. I've played online for a year or so, and whilst I played poker (very poorly) when a student years ago, I've not sat down to a live game since this became a more recognisable hobby. It's a matter of time and opportunity, but if those don't coincide for another 5 years, I'd still contest your implication that my soul is cold and dead.

Re opportunity (oportunity?): why not set up a home game with some mates?

Hard to explain, but for some reason, almost all my social activity happens away from home (mine or others). We don't live very near most of our friends, and don't know most of those living around us.... When the lads get together, it's for rugby, golf and beer....women and children have the homes! One of the others also plays online, but we can't enthuse the rest. Sometime perhaps.

Thanks for answering my questions, guys (especially Ozone).

I currently have no further questions, but if I ever need more help I think I will start a new topic.

Thanks again.

No, no, no. As a novice to this forum, you are supposed to get upset when someone corrects you, rant and rave that you thought we were all here to learn and not attack each other personally, use poor grammar and bad spelling, and generally be a know-it-all pain in the ass. This kind of civil and well-formed response will not be tolerated.

Sheesh, isn't there a FAQ somewhere?
