Default Something positive!

I started playing today after work on 1/2 limit tables at party poker, went up.....went back to even pretty much all night, called it a night after ufc unleashed and went to bed.

Couldnt sleep so around 2am I decided the hell with it I would play poker for an hour. Since the only reason I was going to play was I couldnt sleep I decided to take a risk and peeled $150 out of the bankroll and played on the 2/4 tables.

First hand dealt a a hit the set, slow played myself into a $64 pot.
Second hand dealt k a suited, flopped a straight $52 pot
Third hand dealt j q suited flop was j j q $65

Not bad for 10 mins, good night I have a feeling I will sleep well now.

I read so many bad beat stories I figured I would share my good fortune.

Congrats! Just be careful not to assume that you can beat 2/4 any time you want to just because of a few lucky hands, and don't do that with more money than you can afford to lose (or to keep bringing in more to try to make up your losses if you lose doing that).

Otherwise, if you can afford to do that once in a while and it's fun for you, good luck!

Oh thanks, I have the bankroll to play 2/4 I just figured I would take 150 so if I hit a bad streak I would accept the loss and go to bed, I didnt wanna bring 400 and lose 150 and get stuck into winning my loss's back and be up all night.

I learned my lesson about a month ago when I took a bankroll from $130 to $400 in about a week on 1/2 and jumped right on the 2/4 tables just to lose it in 2 or 3 days so now I am building to 400x bb before moving up hoping to learn more while I build my roll.

Thanks for the advice though.

Actually I find it easier to play better at higher stakes.....I noticed at 1/2 I would play stuff and call things I shouldnt be because it is just a dollar or two.........totally forgetting how fast a dollar or two will add up.

It is much easier chashing a flush to the river putting in $2 then chashing it putting in $4.

In the end I belive I have a good concept of poker but my weakness is self disipline.
