Gods I made a dumb play last night. It was A $10+1 tournament with a single rebuy, and an add-on of 2000 after 1 hour. There were about 920 that entered. I started playing hyper-aggresive once we got down to roughly 100. I got a lot of blinds/antes folded to me, and got lucky when my all-in hands preflop won when I actually got called. I had KQ beat QQ, and then later had somebody call my AK raise all-in from middle position, with AQ thinking I was a maniac (I was playing a VERY aggresively, but only when in late position, and because I was trying to finish top 9.) Anyways I'm sitting on about 160,000 in tourney chips at one point. Then I'm sitting on the SB with A9 and nothing but folds to me. So I push all-in trying to take the BB of 10,000 and the antes of 5000. The BB had about 140,000 and called with AQ. His AQ held up and I finished 27th a few hands later. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I was in 5th out of 40 at one point with 1st place paying over $5000. Man is this frustrating. I finished with a $110 prize, but I can't help but think I could have won 9th or better if not for the last hand. I had descent chances at least. My 160,000 was about 5% of the chips in the tourney. Hopefully this vent will help. The fact that i've lost over $5000 in the last few months (gross not net) doesn't annoy me nearly as much as the fact that I didn't win that $5000. Damn.

OK it's probably a bad play. I just knew nobody but the original raiser could have me beat. Didn't actually consider the BB.

Guess my losing in 5 SNG's in a row last night isn't as bad as I thought.
Sorry about everyone's luck.

Now I can have my wife read this thread--compared to Cbone and Manny I'll come across as relatively in control of my emotions!

So... that guy called your all in holding middle pair only? Guh, I feel for you on that one.

I finished ITM at 1 of 7 SnG's ($5+0.50 @ FTP) yesterday (tracking 42% ITM prior to yesterday). Finished on the bubble on the first 3. I should have quit on the first one. After a half hour, there were only four people left, I had 1300-ish chips, about 1/3 from 3rd place. It was pretty straightforward -- dummy would play a marginal hand, other guy took his chips. I was never the "other guy" and was playing against 3 huge stacks.

On another table, I got AK midway through with about 1700 in chips, pre-flop raised, yada yada, one caller. Flop came up A-rag-rag, I went all in, other guy called and fliped over KK. I thought, "Yay!" Only thing was, the rag-rag cards were diamonds. One of his Kings was a diamond. Diamond on turn, *ACE* of diamonds on river. I actually had him covered in chips and had some left but got busted a few hands later with pocket 7's OTB.

Another one, I was on the bubble late and being really aggressive. Big bets or all-in with anything decent, and everybody would fold. Chip leader with 6X my chips wouldn't even put up a fight. The guy sitting to my right was constantly folding to any bet, not just mine. Wouldn't even call me as SB. He won a little hand against the chip leader to double up and get in front of me by about 200 chips. Next time I was BB, everybody folded except for him who just called. I had sucky J6o. Total bluff, I go all in, and he thought about it for awhile, typed, "Oh well ..." and called me with Q7o. 7 on flop, and I'm done.
