I know my all in call on the river was a bad choice but I couldn't help it, At best I put him on TJ or 44.

Makes me so mad!

out of curiosity what was the buy-in for the tournament? i'm guessing less than $10 right?

bad pf call on his part, but i would have bet the flop, trying to slowplay and get fancy bites me in the ass all the time...

after his river check raise, JT is a possibility, but i wouldn't be worried about quads...A4, KK, or QQ are much more likely...but thats just my opinion...

lol

what I meant was at the turn I considered him having TJ or 44, those were the only realistic hands he could have had that were going to beat me, and I really didn't think he had them.

I knew he didn't have KK or QQ as he would have gotten over excited and all-in'd me pre flop.

I hate bad beat stories normally but I have one aswelll. It was a Shorthanded cash game on pokerstars. Pot got raised from first position to 6 dollars. Player on left calls. Im next with AK suited. I re raise all in hoping to take the pot without a flop. The first player is a maniac and raises with anything so i felt this was a good play. the first player as i thought folded.

The second player calls all in which was $70 dollars. The flop comes 410k. Im thinking great top pair top kicker. Turn is a 4 river is a 3.

I turn over AK for a pair. He turns over 43 for a full house.

He then starts to brag to me saying something along the lines of "get of this table fish".......reload.

I had to go to bed after this one as I didnt want to tilt

In most other areas of life, people who are truly good at something don't brag about it, they just do it. Unless they're jackoffs.

I've seen, and been the victim many times in my few months of regular playing, of hands like that. But I play low limit tables, and I've learned that it's kinda something I expect is going to happen. And ultimately, if you are on a low-limit table and somebody's talking crap, that says a lot alone about who they are. So you're King of the Crappy Players, big f-in deal.

I know I'm a novice player, and though improving, I make no bones about it that I'm going to make mistakes as I gain experience. If someone needs their ego boosted by capitalizing on those mistakes, more power to them.

Last night I played a few hands terribly and lost my stack by the end of the night. And some loser who had already reloaded his chips 3 times in that span was trying to call me on it. I just had to laugh at that. My revenge will be to find him in the future and take his money, and say nothing about it.

In another post on here, I equated the levels of tables in poker to baseball fields. The quality is definitely better the higher you go, but also the left-field unexpected plays are much less because good players don't make those plays with any regularity, if at all, just like on a ball field you get less bad hops because the field's in much better shape. I think it's a very relevant analogy.

I rarely get in a shit talking contest with someone, though sometimes the urge hits me and I start making smartass comments. Players who just will not shut up are such easy money because it becomes a cinch to get into their head because they are throwing around so much info.
