Default Raising in 10NL and missing?

This situation happens to me ALL the time.

I either raise 6-7x BB UTG and get callers with hands like AK or AQs or raise in LP with middlee/large pockets, AK, etc... into an unraised pot. I get all sorts of callers then BAM! the flop is a blank. do you c- bet here or just check and let it go. if i check, i'm allowing free cards and if i bet and get called, i'm assuming someone has hit. i'm wasting money if i bet out and get called as it's almost impossible to get someone at 10NL to fold a pair, even middle or bottom. what to do?

If there are a lot of callers, and you have AK...you can't give a free card...because you are the one drawing to the overcards. Giving free cards is something you do with the best hand.

A lot of times in big multiway pots, if you all you have his AK, you'll just want to check it.

If you miss with AK I would cbet it with 1 or maybe 2 callers, with 3 or more- forget it. If you get 3 callers with a 7xBB raise, one of them is sticking around for the turn.

Default 10nl

In the immortal words of Mannyisgod:

Make a hand, bet a hand.

If you are already committed and have overbet preflop with a big raise - cut your losses and release the hand.

Further, NL is alot different than Fixed. Where A-Paint is a strong start in Fixed, it doesnt play so well in NL because there is too much multi-way pot action where it doesnt hold up. In my own opinion (please take with a grain of sand, or many grains) try playing suited connectors and pairs more strongly. They are the hands that can become monsters.

My two cents
