I would like if you tell some other facts of your trip. Like, how much do you pay 4 sleeping, eating, drinking, maybe taxi and stuff like this...
What do you do with the money (casino safe?)
Maybe some practical Stuff 4 living and so one...
I stayed at the tropicana which is really a good value, paid 50$/night in weekdays and 100$ on fri/sat.

Actually I moved to a motel called Villa Roma for the weekend as it was only 70$. 5 min walk from the wymm but I wouldnt do it again.

Its located betwenn the Wymm and the Riviera and you dont want to walk there alone at night. Lots of crackhead and homeless that you dont feel confortable walking along with 2k$.

For the money the strip is pretty safe (as long as you dont go pass the wymm) you can walk with couple thousands with no problem. A box isnt free, no idea of the price but not worth it for a week, esp if you play in a lot of different casinos.

To move up and down the strip you can walk if you are not going too far (like 3 casinos) if not take a cab. The monorail if efficient only on certain specific routes (I used it to go from MGM to Paris/Ballys which is close the the B). Cab are pretty cheap, a long ride like mandaylay bay - wymm will cost you 15$ max, probably 10$ depending on traffic.

Eating and drinking is really up to you. You can pay 0 for both is you play at the wymm / caesars / venetian (pick one) and only eat at the table paying with your comp points (you get betwenn 1 and 2$ / hour). Most of casinos have foodcourt where you can eat cheap and of course there are restaurants at every price.

Practical stuff for living I dont know I just stayed there a week but if you want to spend a couple of month there try the budget suite, see Brick and mortar forum on 2p2, there is a sticky on it.

Badugi is fairly popular in vegas, at least at mid-high stakes, most mix games at 40/80+ includes badugi.

Awesome stuff. Great post. Only time I ever went to Vegas was before I started playing poker

fwiw, some vegas locals told me that "the trop is a no go". they said if you need a cheap place to stay they would recommend the former barbary coast (i think its bills gamblin hall or somthing now). haven't stayed in any of them just thought i should share.

also, great trip report seb.
