Nice job on the 2nd place. I agree about the minbetting thing as well.

Note:

This guy also had T8, but cake poker doesn't show your opponents mucked cards on the official HH (they do show it on their little "Last Hand" graphic in the game though). Also this is a Cake HH converted to Pstars format so I can put it on poker hand (it originally said he had AK because that's the default hand the converter puts there when it can't find the real hand).

This can now be my "$4.40 180s are easy". Observe the following sick value bet.

UTG (t4890)
UTG+1 (t14410)
MP1 (t7440)
MP2 (t6168)
CO (t9285)
Button (t4175)
SB (t7680)
Jokeslayer (t18470)

Preflop: Jokeslayer is BB with 9c, 7h.
2 folds, MP1 calls t300, 4 folds, Jokeslayer checks.

Flop: (t775) 4s, Qd, 2h (2 players)
Jokeslayer bets t500, MP1 calls t500.

Turn: (t1775) 7c (2 players)
Jokeslayer checks, MP1 bets t1200, Jokeslayer calls t1200.

River: (t4175) Ah (2 players)
Jokeslayer bets t2300, MP1 calls t2300.
Final Pot: t8775

I wouldn't have called it a value bet if I'd lost, would I? I'd have called it a bluff.

I liked your raise in the OP it looks like you're desperate for him to call so he probably put you on a K, good job!

This proves you don't need to get berserk and bet the pot on a bluff if you use some clever tricks like taking 10 seconds to make you move UTG, limp, then bet the minimum on the flop. Although that probably wouldn't work in a 180 $4 because they're not thinking "wonder why he took ages then limped, slow playing big pair?" They're probably thinking "next time he takes that long I'm going to type zzzzzzzzzzzzz in the chat box".
