Um, aren't ring game and cash the same thing?

Yes, but "ring games" is more proper-I only use the term "cash games" when talking with non-poker players who usually think poker is just gambling and have been been waiting for me to go broke playing it for the last six years.

My point was didn't you mean "It's a lot harder for a tourney player to switch to ring games than it is for a ring game player to switch to tourney"? That's how that comparison sentence structure I think usually are phase.

Oh and um, "This video is not available in your country due to copyright restrictions."

Yes, I think it's easier for a ring game player to turn tourney player than for a tourney player to turn ring game player.

The video is Elton John's "Still standing".

I would tend to disagree with that list but w/e.

And ya there are some more decent Germans, that, uhm, can make their car payment

I'm only play as a hobby, don't play all that regularly but study the game significantly, and have never played seriously at a level over 100NL due to bankroll. I've used poker to pay 100% for the following major life events:

1k in Car Repairs
Wife's health insurance for a year
Dog's physical therapy (yes, seriously)
2 week long vacations

That doesn't even mention the everyday things I've bought with poker. So yes, people can make money from poker, even the people who play as a hobby.

"If our love was just a circus, you'd be a clown by now" I love that line for some reason.

Anyway, if you convert to cash game and are in what would obviously be a marginal situation in a tourney, the obvious move in a cash game is to fold.
I'm just being captain obvious now though.

I have a full time job so my "gambling" (poker, horses betting, sports betting) is done on a part time basis. I make enough from gambling to cover my mortgage and living expense and then some. I could spend time doing consulting work in my field of work but I have 0 interest in paying more income tax.
