I wrote out what 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30% VPIP looks like and taped it to my monitor for quick reference. I always use the positional VPIP as well. It used to help quite a bit until I memorized those ranges. The paper is still taped up there though.

Did you use pokerstove to generate the hands?
You must need a lot of data on a player to build up his positional VPIP?
OK if I stick 5%,10%,15%,20%,25% is pokerstove I get these ranges
88+,AJs+,KQs,AKo
77+,A9s+,KTs+,QTs+,AJo+,KQo
77+,A7s+,K9s+,QTs+,JTs,ATo+,KTo+,QJo
66+,A4s+,K8s+,Q9s+,J9s+,T9s,A9o+,KTo+,QTo+,JTo
66+,A2s+,K6s+,Q8s+,J8s+,T8s+,A7o+,K9o+,QTo+,JTo
which could be a thread in itself...I wonder on what basis A2s is more playable than 55? and so on...

Poker stove has very artificial ranges which match hardly any players. The less aggressive a player is the more non-positional his range will be. They will tend to bet the same hands from all positions and limp and call with the same hands from all positions-thus the importance of knowing whether they're ace huggers, pair sheriffs or chasers or whether they're true calling stations with all these leaks. Passive players don't steal with position and they don't raise with weak hands to limit the field. Watching how they play the button and under the gun will tell one quickly whether they're tight or loose and aggressive or passive and one can adjust ones ranges pretty quickly with that info. Using a Hud to replace reads entirely is dumb. When one has a great tool like poker tracker one can study the hands of regulars after a session and know how they play more exactly. One also does not seem to be thinking of field size, so just as they don't steal blinds or use the button they, passive players don't increase the hands they play and bet the smaller the field is.

A2s and 55 are both looser hands that one needs either a large field or a small one to play. Against a small field they're bet and steal hands that are semi-bluffs, though often strong enough to win by themselves.

Probably there are situation where they are equivalent but it hard to think of situations where Id prefer to play A2s over 55...OTOH Id be far happier calling an all-in with 55 than A2s....and generally 55 is superior post flop heads up IMO.

There comes a point having been played by girlfriends/wives enough that narrowing your range to Starcraft is quite profitable.

Awless, what I like to do is a little different from the crowd. I like to put a player "on a penis." What I mean by that is; Do I think the player has a big penis? Small penis? Medium penis? Once I narrow that down, is it a short fat penis? Long and skinny penis? Or the dreaded long and fat penis? Once you decide on a player's penis it makes your decision a lot easier. When I play live poker and I get raised I'll say "you got a big penis?" No one can maintain a poker face to that question. One final note, reraise small penises, and please, please fold in the face of a big penis.

it's important to balance your penis, because it allows a seemless transition to a joke about the nuts.
avoid polarising your penis, except when faced with a negative cunt.

Pokerroom.com released the expected value of all hands played at their site. A2s has an expected value of .07 from the small blind and .09 from the big blind, while 55 has an EV of .08 from the SB and .13 from the BB, so they're almost identical in strength [ the EV is HU], with A2s being slightly stronger against larger fields. I would not call an all in with either of these hands, except in a tourney when extremely short stacked.

The internet is in a sorry state when this qualifies as trolling.
