Default win/loss

I have been playing 5/10, 9 people online. I have read different amounts for an expectation for wins, ie $10 per hour or one big bet. What amount at that level would be considered one big beat.
As far as loss limits what would be a good rule of thumb.

A big bet is the higher bet- ie $10. One big bet an hour is good in a longhand game.

The main reason for loss limits is to prevent you from going on tilt. Generally 30 big bets for one session is a good rule- ie $300.

Thanks for your response. What would be considered a session. I'm curious what the loss of $300 would equate divided by a session. Thanks again

A session would be a typical game of poker- 3 hours or so.

The 30 big bet rule is not a rule in stone- it's more of a rule for preventing you from playing while you are on tilt. If you lose $300 in 30 min at a 5-10 game, chances are you won't be playing your best.

If you've lost $300 over 5-6 hours, chacnes are you've just had a bad day with the cards- not really in tilt danger...so the rule applies less.

kokopellirox - I guess you've found a winning strategy. You went from $1/$2 tables losing all your money all the way up to $5/$10 all in the span of a week or so. Congrats!

Please, no personal attacks or things that even hint to it are allowed on this board. The last thing I want is for my site's forums to turn into 2+2...or even worse- Pokah.
