Default UltimateBet

I am a private individual (not affiliated with any site) who has played on a few cardrooms. I thought that I should write to you about my favorite poker site: UltimateBet. There are generally 4000 people (peak time), the competition is easy to medium, there are tons of tournaments, both multi-table and single table, and they have a bunch of different games [NL/PL Hold 'em, Limit Hold 'em (from $.01/$.02 to $200/400), Omaha (with 8/b), 7 card stud (with 8/b), and Pineapple. They also have an Aruba trip with satellites and supers to it. Most of the buy-ins are smaller than the other casinos, allowing you to buy in with only $25, rather than the standard $50 (like PartyPoker). When I cashed out, it only took them 24 hours to refund my money to my credit card. The only problem that I have encountered was during some improvements they recently made, where there were disconnects and some lagging. This is fixed. If you are disconnected, their "all-in" protection ensures that you don't lose what you have vested in the pot (should you have a winner), as you are considered all-in after a short time period for you to reconnect.

Sincerely,

mclee

I agree that Ultimate Bet is a lot of fun. The tournaments are in a variety of price ranges and include rebuy tournaments which are pretty wild if you go for that sort of thing. The promotions are great too.

One extremely neat thing about UltimateBet is that they give you a perspective view of the table. The makes the experience of playing more like playing in a home game. This is especially true of their 6-handed tables. Only True Poker has a more real life playing setup as UB's graphics are fairly spartan.

UltimateBet also has a fabulous "mini-view" which makes it possible to play multiple games without the annoying screen jumping that you get with most poker sites. This is because you can fit a lot of mini-view screens on your screen without overlapping.

The only discouraging words for me: I ran into one clear case of collusion at UB (although the site admins were very interested in looking this over and taking appropriate action.) Also I have found the connection/lagging problems to be severe at times and they seem to crop up quite frequently during the time I spend at UB.

Bottom line: one of my favorite poker sites for sure.

UltimateBet has penny ante games too. The competition on them is surprisingly good too -- often tougher than $.25/$.50 and $.50/$1 tables.
