Default How to fry an egg on a XP CPU

As you can read in the text, "don't try this at home kids"

What they fail to mention is that you could cook the egg on the outside of a case that contains a Prescott, and that you could chill ice cream on a Athlon 64.

Did I mention I work for AMD?

That's cool, I have a friend (Daniel Chang) who works there too as a "Computer Engineer". I don't know if they have more than one location in Austin or not, and I'm sure there are a lot of people there so I'd be surprised if you knew him, but I thought I might as well mention it anyway.

All of my current/recent computers have been AMDs too, ever since the Athlon was first released. It's strange that people still make jokes about them being too hot when like you said, I think Intel's stuff actually runs hotter now. That was still an amusing page though, Coss, even if it coulda' been done on other CPUs too.

Yes the new AMDs are a lot cooler than similair P4s. I myself have a Athlon XP 3400 and that runs a lot cooler than my previous P4 2,8 ghz.
I think the jokes began when Tomshardware released the film where they removed a heatsink from a running athlon.
