Who's paying you off other than AQ, and isn't beating you?

I think that you're asuming both the ace and the queen hit, as are the other guys' two cards.

statistically, that is quite a rare thing to happen.

I'm thinking a board of like A 9 4 or something.

Or were you thinking that KJ will call a pot sized bet with an ace on the board? Maybe in the micro limits.

Well, i sorta change my mind, lol. Since this is SNG specific, and early to boot, one needs to raise to 80 or so to steal the pot preflop --- or just check and take it down if flop brings help. Since it is so early in the SNG/Tourney the hand (AK) has to be worth like only 200 (maybe 400) chips. It would be nice to steal the pot preflop, but maybe a raise will be auto-called early on, so a check is optimal.

'Cause if the flop comes 7 A 3 (2 hearts, though you don't have any) and your 3/4 sized bet gets reraised big by an opponent, are you going to get into a raising war? Yeah, it could be a flush draw semi-bluff, but it could be a set -- and not worth battling over early on. Does my logic here make any sense? Cause maybe it is the paranoid novice in me, always worrying about the damn set ;x

Speaking of which, let me start a new thread with a ring game hand I would like to discuss.

any ace, second pair, virtually anything that hits if they don't put you on an ace

Taking a big ace to the flop unraised every now and again is incredibly lucrative, and this is an excellent opportunity to do so.

Kc
