So if you play 5 days a week, that would be 5 grand a week...250k a year.

And certainly, I suspect there are many that kind of money online.

2 tables of 5/10 nl = 100 an hour...10 hours a day = 1000 dollars.

2 tables of 30/60 limit = 120 an hour...10 hours a day = 1200 dollars.

Both seem very attainable. I am sure a lot of people are out there doing just that.
Yes, I'd bet a very good player with smart table selection skills would clear more than 100/hour at (2)5/10NL on average. But that just shows with a conservative estimate, it is realistic.

That said, I agree with Lindy, you'd better be near robot like to play that long a day without normal distractions (TV, kids, food, sex, etc.). I'm sure there are plenty of people doing it.

There are some people that are able to make that type of money playing poker, but they are few and far between. For every person averaging $1000 on a full, playing day, there are probably 1000+ wannabes wasting their time and losing money thinking they can become that guy.

I think it is very attainable for many reasons. I know of some people who play 6-8 tables of 5-10 limit and easily make $1000 a day on average. They make about 1.5 bets per out at 8 tables that is $120 per hour. Play for a little over eight hours per day and there you go.

You are saying on average. Do they make over $1000 day after day without fail?

There were several comments like this on this thread, and they confuse me. In the long run your average take is more important than whether you hit a certain criterion each day.

After playing in some of the higher stakes (150/300 pound game on crypto, which is about 300/600) games on the net, I would say that $1000/day average is very attainable and is probably on the low end of what is possible.

The person that started this thread asked if it's possible to $1000 a day. Not if you can average out at $1000 daily.

Um, pretty sure he meant $1000 per day, as in average.
Usually that little "/" means "per"... so that would signify average rather than a single instance.

Bahhhh. Who brought this thread back!??!!

An incredibly small number of people in this world are truly capable of averaging $1000/day playing poker.

You guys assume that humans are like robots and can just 8 table $5/$10 all day and make $1k a day. News flash: Humans burn out. Humans get sick of poker. Humans go through funks. Humans go on vacations. Humans have family members die. Humans get sick. Humans lose their internet for a week. On and on and on and on.

$1000/day? Get outta here. Seriously.
