Before the hand
Make sure that you always have enough money to the table to cap every steet and not be all in. You wouldn't want to be dealt AA, and hit a flop of AKx against KK, only to find that yourself all in on the flop.

Preflop
Don't raise with 93. It sucks. Fold it. Don't reraise it, again, it is near the bottom on the list of hands that you ever would want to play.

Flop
Don't raise with bottom pair, especially on a board showing a possible straight. Fold it. It sucks. Again, don't reraise.

Turn
Your hand still sucks. Stop raising and reraising you nut .

Check out the strategy section on this site. It'll help tons for situations like this.

Lets play some poker! :::First Pump::::

This is a great hand to play in a multiway pot. You are almost never dominated and probably dominate one or more hands yourself. You aren't sooted, so that means you won't lose extra bets by chasing a lower flush draw that statistically won't hit anyways.

The thing about 93 is that you will have a good idea when you are ahead and know when you are beat. This makes hands like this much more playable in multiway pots and actually easier to play than the other premium hands. I mean, if you get AA and the flop comes QQJ, now what are you going to do when everyone starts betting?

As Miller and Sklansky tell us in Small Stakes Holdem, do not be afraid to build large pots preflop! If you are timid preflop, you will miss out on alot of extra bets. You have to be willing to take your edge against the other hands and invest towards your +EV pot equity.

Alright, well you hit your hand. Only a fool will invest money on a hand and then drop it once he hits. You have a pair of 3's, that leaves you with two more 3's and three more 9's, eight outs to a runner runner straight, and a 6.4% chance at a backdoor full house. You can realisiticly assume a total of about 14.75 total outs.

Those possibilities pump up your pot equity to about +7, meaning you have enough value in the hand to push it hard. Also, with low reverse implied odds with this situation, you can confidently hold onto the hand with little fear of actually being outdrawn. But still. make these people pay to draw out against you.

Ok the turn is a rag card for you but it's very likely to be a scare card for everyone else. This warrants extreme aggression on the turn to push out hands that you currently have beat but may still suckout on you. A free card here would be disastrous.

::triple fist pump chair spin wooot!::
Your hand is basically locked down now. You have a 97.65% chance to take down this pot. The only hands that beat you are hands that shouldnt have been in the pot anyway. Sit back and reap the reward!

Man, thats rough. You will suffer bad beats in poker, everyone does. All I can say is that you outplayed them. There is a luck factor in poker, everyone has to deal with it. It's simply a bad beat. Do not let this decrease your confidence. Analyzing a hand afterwards like this is one of the best things you can do to improve. Good game sir... .keep it up.

I dont know where to start.

Quote:
This is a great hand to play in a multiway pot.
How many multi-way pots have you seen won with 1 pair or even low 2 pair. Not many, this means you have to hit trips to even be in with a shout. And this wont even win when someone hits a straight or flush - which happens a very large amount of the time in multi-way pots - so you really need a full house.

[quote]Alright, well you hit your hand. Only a fool will invest money on a hand and then drop it once he hits.[quote]

You hit your hand? Any one with a 4,5, 3 with a better kicker, 67, A2, 26 or overpair has you dominated. I would hardly call it a good flop.

Quote:

There are a ton of draws out there.

Quote:

No-one is going anywhere in a pot this big, everyone has pot odds.

Quote:

If you can justify 93o being in the pot, how can you say there are hands that shouldnt be there.

Your logic could be applied to any 2 cards. Would you say the same thing for 72o?

Loved that one.

Let's see - you dominate err 92o,83o and ... oh never mind you dominate at least 2 hands

Steve - obviously you couldn't say the same about 72o - that doesn't dominate anything.
