Default I have to win $100,000 in 15 months.

I have to. No choice. I have no bankroll. I understand that the odds are slightly against me. Still, I have to do this.

Advice?

And pleeaase no wisecracks. I am dead serious about this.

I hope its possible. I am very motivated. I could raise 10K for starters. Can someone just accept that and give me some advice on the best longshot I could take?

I am not to keen on taking 10K to sports bookies.

The other thing is that I have a small house worth about 100K. I might have to find some shark to play heads up with. I am that desperate.

I have no advice for you other than reset your expectations and find some other way out of whatever dilemma you currently find yourself in.

I've been very sick over a period of years during which time my business partner stole my wife and ruined my short term business, got us in trouble with the IRS, and ruined my credit. I am trying to pick up the pieces and the only thing I have to work with is a small core staff and several almost certain contracts coming mid 07 that will get me back in the black.

And an operating shortfall of about $250,000 till then. I have no intention of letting this business go without running taking some risk.

Guys, please don't make me ask Lord Mushroom to sketch me an action plan. Please.

I don't know what to say other than you can never play the game "right" if you are worried about losing the money you are playing with.

You'll either make unneeded risks/calls to try and get that magic card to complete your long shot hand
OR

fold a winning hand under the pressure because you can't afford to lose more than the amount you have put in

It's a proven fact, in many of the books as well, and hell I at one point had done that with a 10th of the money you are talking about..

Damn well near impossible to bring your "A" game under those conditions.... Even in rounders with 10G the guy only made 40k ...;)

your on life tilt. by doing this your only going to make it worse.

come on man how is the possibility of losing every dime you have plus your house worth this ? because if you do that you wont have ANY business at all and you will be on the street.

calm down, find another solution. yeah easier said than done. but its the truth.

Lets see if I got this right.
You are in a critical financial bind with your business. You have decided to turn to poker as the best possible method to fix this serious situation. You are asking complete strangers, of which you know nothing about, for advice on issues worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. Afterall, you are new to the forum arn't you?

I assume you are doing this IN ADDITION to all the professional recommendations you received from your accountant, business associates, banking contacts, advisors, and close family members and friends. But then of coarse you are, what would they know about making that much money playing poker.

OK, OK, since I actually do understand a little about this stuff I will give you my recommendation.... There are some really good posts on this forum on how to play 93. I highly recommend you do a search for this topic and follow the advice to the letter. It might seem like a long shot but its some pretty revolutionary thinking and it sounds like its exactly what your looking for here, right?
