Default 1 BB/Hour

Forgive my ignorance. I am trying to understand this concept properly. Does this mean that if I am playing .50/1 NL Holdem my goal should be to make $1/hour. Thanks.

In NL a BB (Big Bet) is typically 2x the big blind, so it would be $2/hr on average playing .5/1 NL

Thank you. That leads to another question then. How does anyone make money playing poker. If I play NL $5/$10 I could expect to make $20/hr if I am a good player. If it was a fulltime job that would be $800/week and $41,600 annually. Can I assume that an expert player expects to average much better than 1BB/Hr? Thanks again.

I guess for a good player it is possible to make 5 BB/100, in FL as well as in NL. In higher stakes games, that is a nice sum of money.

Yeah, but making 5 BB/100 hands is much, much tougher at high limits than it is at the lower limits ....almost impossible at some stakes/games

Yeah, I've started datamining on the 100/200 FL games at Party lately, and most of the regular (and winning) players are between 1 and 2 BB/100. There are a few that go as high as 6 BB/100 though. Admittedly my sample size is not that big, just around 15K hands, but from what I see 5 BB/100 should be possible for a very good player.
