Bad beat.

Silly things happen in tournaments. Next time they go all in with AA, someone will call with QT offsuit thinking thier bluffing.

We've seen this one often, but I'm afraid that at that level, I'm going to fold my AKs first hand to an all-in over the top.

His play was dumb, totally dumb. He deserved to get beaten, not lucky. But poker doesn't work that way. He could have had virtually any pair, and you are behind to that particular coinflip; unless you are there to gamble then I wouldn't take that coinflip first hand up, simply because doubling up has little long term value.

Only one hand I'd CALL an all-in with first up, and that's AA because, heads-up, its a big favourite against anything at all.

He is on my Buddy List with the player notes reading -- "Money Tree". He once blew 5 $50 Ring game buy ins in like 10mins. If it was against anyone else I would usualy have folded. I figured he had AQ offsuit, or even 10J suited which seems to be his fav hand. Plus it was just me and him and I thought whats the odds that he has AA, and if he did have AA surely he would just call or raise me to get more out of me.

I was prity sure I was ahead, and well I was. Beats like that come around like 1/5, but when they do boy is it a bit**.

Sure it sucks to get busted by some maniac who pushes all in with 45s, but really, it wasn't that bad of a beat. According to the hand simulator you were only ahead 60-40.
