Would you like me (or someone else) to explain to you how this person didn't rob you of $60, but actually, "robbed you" of a smaller sum? It might make you feel better about all these beats you're taking.

I think you meant to say could; you'll get over it.

ps - while I think about it, 'of' is not a a verb.

Say after me, "should have, would have, could have".

I don't see anything remarkable here.

He put all his money in with top pair, OK kicker which is good for him if you have AK. You don't say anything about how either of you had been playing, but if you had been continuation betting a lot he doesn't have to see your flop bet as anything other than overcards. Once he reraised he is probably committed to calling an allin.

Also, would you have felt better had he shown JJ, TT, JTs or AhTh - all of which are compatable with his betting - or do you just feel that KK should always hold up.

When the money went in you could have been a big favourite or a big underdog, you only found out which when you saw his cards.

I'm not saying I would have played it differently, but this is a fairly normal situation and not one to get upset about.

I had him read prity good. I new he was a calling station basically. My table image was tight agressive. He was also on my buddy list, and I play against him wenever i can because he is easy money.

What I was fustrated about is that:

First he called my re-raise with QJ. I put him on something like this. 66 and under at best.

He went all in with just a J high card Q.

He caught a runner runner.

Okay its just a usual bad beat. But it just gets to me when you know exactly what the guy has. And then you say ony way he can win is if a A and K comes down.... and suprise suprise he hits it... and then to top it off you ask him why he played his hand.. and he says hey its poker, its all luck. He got himself upto $180 and then he lost $150 and i took his last $30. Guess luck runs out

Uhh.... not what I meant.

Holdem Hi: 990 enumerated boards containing Td Jh 2h
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
Ks Kc 800 80.81 190 19.19 0 0.00 0.808
Qs Jd 190 19.19 800 80.81 0 0.00 0.192

Since he had about 19.2% to win, then in a pot of $60.32, $11.58 is his, and $48.74 is yours by EV.

A really good answer is that he didn't rob you of anything, but at the very least, your expectation there was only $48.74, so he didn't rob you of $60. Feel better yet? If you learn/remember how to use EV, your bad beats won't seem so bad after all (unless they're REALLY BAD beats like runners HU in PLO )

In addition to AK winning him the hand, any J with a card other than K, or any Q without a 2, 9, T or A is also good. Also, 89 or 9K wins it for him, too.

It wasn't that bad a beat.
