2mM, I take back anything nasty I ever said about you, someone who likes scotch can't possibly be a bad person.

Currently there are 3 bottles in my shelf, a 10yr Laphroaig, a 14yr Oban and my standard Scotch, a 10yr Eagle of Spey. The Laphroaig is imho something you can't drink easily, the strong taste makes it really special. I like to take a glass of it after some heavy lunch though. The Oban is nearly empty, and it is definitely my favourite whisky up to now. Fine, distinctive taste, not too heavy, just right. Will get another bottle once this one is empty. The Eagle of Spey is my "everyday" whisky, it's a cheaper filling of the Glenfarclas distillery, just 10yr old, nothing really special, but the price/performance ratio is excellent, should give it a try if you don't know it yet. I also enjoyed the Glenmorangie I had earlier, was pretty mild, fruity notes, quite nice. The Whisky I enjoyed the least so far was Highland Park, I guess it's just me, but it tasted like phenol with a lot of pepper, and way too strong. Then there was 12yr Glenfarclas, wasn't too excited about it, though it surely wasn't bad either. Ummm...ok, there were a few others, but those were the ones I remember now...gotta look for the tubes to find out what the others were.

If you have any whiskys I should give a try, just go for it.

i don't like glenmorangie that much. but i like glenfarclas so i should probably check out the eagle of spey.
i have a bottle of 17yr Macallan which tastes pretty good imho (but i'm by no means an expert) but the real deal is the 24yr Ardbeg (an old friend of mine gave me one bottle as a xmas present, unfortenetly the bottle is almost empty ).

I'm kinda low right now, but if i recall i have:

2x Glenfiddich 12
1 X Balvenie (10 yr? not sure)
1 x Glendeverron (sp) 10 or 12 I can't remember.
Just finished a bottle of Dalwhinnie 12... that was good scotch. What I have now isn't great stuff by any means.

And I can't even remember wtf half of them are because they're so unimpressive.

Oh yeah, I also tried a bottle of Dalwhinnie (not all at once, of course), it's really a nice change, quite fruity, even sweet, very tasty. Nice that you mentioned it, TWLLM, I could really get another bottle of it. I think it's the complete opposite of the Islay whiskys like Ardbeg, Lagavulin or Laphroaig. Maybe you should give one of those a try, TWLLM, I am sure you will remember that.

Oh, just remembered another one, Talisker. Seriously, anyone who likes Islay whisky, should try Talisker. Hell, I need to get another bottle of that one, too. This slowly gets expensive.
