You got that right. The time to go all-in was on the flop, you are going to end up pot committed trying to defend your hand anyway, so may as well push there and try and force the flush draw out of the hand. Your bet of $1600 into a pot of $2600 was small, considering that you had TPTK and any diamond or overcard other than an Ace is going to be a scare.

Instead you end up pushing all-in with what is now second best pair against a probable made flush. You were behind when you got your money in, so no surprise that you were still behind on the river. Although the circumstances are quite ironic.

You should have folded. You still have an M of nearly 8 and can pick a better spot to get your money in.
