Default Beware I'm venting

For people who don't like bad beat stories I would advise clicking back now. Today I've played 4 75 dollar Sit and goes and one 26 dollar tourny on full tilt.

Sit in Go 1: Won the first two hands I played. In late pos i raise 2 and 1/2 the BB with 10-8 (I know a odd hand to be raising with but thats what I do) a player who I've seen min raise with AA min raises me. So I can with the mind set of folding if I don't hit anything and shoving with 2 pair or better. Flop comes 10-8-blank. I shove he calls and he hits the Ace on the river. He then comlains about me calling his raises with junk, jack ass.

Sit and Go 2: Card dead the entire time. I get 77 when shortstacked (this was a turbo event btw) and I shove someone wakes up wiht KK.

Sit and Go 3: Card dead the whole way, lose two coin flips and bust with AQ against JJ.

Tourny: AQ is a much worse hand than A-10 let me tell you. I was card dead for most of the time and my table was so loose I couldnt get them off hands. I missed just about every flop I entered and then busted with Aq vs A-10.

Sit and Go 4: Card dead again. Was too active early on, should have been tighter as the table was full of maniacs. When facing a table like this it's a good idea to widden your range of starting hands (and mine is usually pretty wide anyway) but to lay off the cont. bets if they are not working. This tables was full of calling stations and I missed just about every flop so I was pretty much boned. Finally I turn a Str8 and move all in (the pot was only 200 and I had about 970 left, I wanted to look like a bluff) I get called by a guy with 6-7 off and he hits the gutterball.

Poker is so rigged.

I could have played better in my second sit and go as well the tourny. I tryied to push around a bunch of people who wouldn't not stand to be pushed but man. I've gotten screwed a lot today. 1 4 outer on the river and 1 5 outer on the river, poker can be so mean.

This reply has nothing to do with your post, except it is a vent of my own... Calling stations fucking annoy me.

I've totally hi-jacked this thread, but here's another hand where the calling stations came in handy. This is such horrible poker, I love it.

i hate to say it but I pull stuff like that all the time when I play stud. IT's becuase I suck at it. I'm trying to get better but I need to do so research about it.

Calling stations usually help me win problem with today is that I couldn't hit a flop to save my life and the few times I had hit them got outdrawn. Thanks for posting your hand history provides more than my just plain bitching.

Running cold sucks.

I had a very long heads-up battle in the first half of a $5 shootout on fulltilt when I'm on the big blind (with the smaller stack) and get 89o. Small blind min raises and I call. Flop 6c 7c Tc. I push. After a sort think, he calls and flips Kc Kx. River another club. One flop I finally hit really hard and lose.

Lost 3 of those shoot outs in a row on similar situations of going in with the best of it... although clearly in this case he had outs.

OT: my very first try at a shootout I won. First hand I've got 88. Flop 6 7 x. I raise, get called. Turn x, I bet, get called. river x, I'm all in, get called. Other guy flips K6 and is out on the first hand. Yea me! Won that one after a somewhat longer second round. Now I'm 1 for 6

Let's make this a venting tread for everyone.

Played 2 10+1S1G's yesterday.

1st S&G: Nothing , but absolutely nothing but dead cards coming my way. got 5 times 74o in 8 hands just to give an example. when blinds where 100/200 ( not a turbo so after about 40 min of folding) I get K9S in the BB. The SB has bet me out of my blinds several times allready, and when it's folded to him he raises to 500 or half my stack size. Knowing his raise is just a steel, I pushed and he calls with J7o. needless to say he hit a 7 , I hit shit. Out in 6th place

2nd S&G: Getting a few times a pocket pair, when in early pos. never hit one flop. Down to 1100 when blinds where 50/100.
I get KdQd in BB. 2 limpers and SB calls. I raise to 500 trying to take the pot immediately, but the button who limped goes all-in. I called because there's no way I am going to fold now, and he turns AJo so he is a slight favourite there.
Flop is 9d10sKc Winning now, but a Q or A and I'm done.
Turn 10d Good, that gives him one out less because Ad gives me a flush. 4 bad cards left.
River and out in 5th iso a strong stack.

My two cents worth....

1st SnG - pretty tight table, i'm holding 88, two callers, flop comes K67, checks all round, turn is a 9, i fire out a small bet to see whats what, one caller, i put him on the king (maybe) river is a 10 making my straight, i fire a pot size bet and the other guy reraises all in and i call....he show JQ for the higher straight - big mistake on my part i wasn't concentrating on the board and all i saw was my straight.

2nd SnG - on the bubble with a short stack, getting bullied but had trash so i couldn't really call, first decent hand i had 10Ks, got raised so went all in, guy shows 99 and i don't hit.

3rd SnG - on the bubble again and just off the 3rd in stacksize, get 88, one min-raiser EP, i put him on a AK or AQ, i call, flop comes 672r.....i check, confident he will bet, he does, i raise all-in, he calls and shows AK, turn is a 9, river is an A.

Tourney - sitting ok (just below average chips) but not getting any cards - LP is raising a lot when SB and me (BB) are only ones left in the pot. Get QK and as regular as clockwork, i get raised up to a 1000 (blinds are 100/200) this time i call her bluff and go over the top and go all in - this is for about a third of her chips, she calls and shows 23 (!) and of course hits one of her cards on the river to knock me out.

At that point i switched off the computer and went quietly to bed cursing my luck.......

The first SnG, no complaints as i wasn't concentrating so deserved what happened, the second was a coin toss and I lucked out, but the 3rd SnG and tourney, i was aghast at the calls to my all-in, i thought i played them right - the SnG - the check-raise surely showed that i had something and to call with nothing....yeesh.

Also the tourney one, i watched for a minute afterwards and she was saying that she was on the bluff and didn't want the call or raise......but yet she called it. I wiped a tear from my eye at that one!!

Yeah I feel ya...

I was playing a live cash game and one of the tightest players raises to a mere $15 (which was basically nothing at this table).. however, for him I immediately put him on aces, kings, or queens.. just from his demeaner.. three other people call his raise.. so I go in with 10d9d out of position on him but position on the other three... believing the same thing two pair or better... or if I hit my draw, then chase if he makes it cheap enough....

Flop comes 10 9 2 rainbow... it's checked to me and I fire $40... he comes over the top all in for about $250 more.... I really don't like to put all my chips with two more cards to come... one other guy calls his all in... And this guy was real loose, so I thought he might have AT... so if I called I'd have to worry about a 2 or whatever card on 4th street is, an ace or whatever card the other guy is holding to make 2 pair, and the other 2 cards for him to make his set... and I could be drawing dead to 99 or TT... I sat there and thought for about 2 minutes.. getting 3 to 1 on my money was definately a bonus... I thought he had aces and was over playing them not knowing I could beat it... but I really had a lot of cards to dodge even if I was ahead...

The guy flips over KK and the other guy flips over QJ... a King falls on the river and the QJ takes the main pot and trip Kings gets the side pot... I hated calling because what I feared happened...
