Default Messed up Stud HI hand...

The hand is from a HORSE cash game at stars. I think stud hi is by far my weakest game out of the 5 (I did never read a book about stud and have very little cash game experience). But actually I somehow managed to make some $ in this game too just by playing super tight and betting the good hands aggressively.

This was the first hand I decided to play differently and I think (at least in retrospective) I played this horribly.

Q: Is there a time to slowplay in stud? Was this the right time or not?
Is there any chance that my hand is still good at 6th?

I don't think that you played the hand bad.
If you have rolled up trips, it's okay to slowplay them
on 3th and 4th.
You have a really strong hand, that often holds if you don't improve
and there is a 38% chance that you have a full or better after 7cards.
Player 4 probably has a pair of Aces, or Aces up on 5th.
Your main concern is that he filled up on 6th, but you also have a lot of outs
(assuming that he doesn't have Aces full, which is very unlikely).
At this point you have already invested a lot in this pot, so you have to call
this down

You should slow play trips on 3rd or 4th the majority of the time.

Its possible that your hand is good. The guy didn't raise on 3rd, if he did have 8A hidden than it would justify a raise. He could have had AK hidden and raised hoping to drive out the others when he made 2 Aces. If he made Aces up raising is a reasonable play on 6th street, especially if the other card was a spade giving him a flush draw too.

Calling to the end is mandatory in this sitaution, the only part of your play that might have been wrong was raising on 6th when the second 8 fell.

Thanks for the answers!

Nice to hear that slowplaying trips is the common play and that it probably wasn't a mistake at all.

But I still think my raise on 6th makes no sense and did cost me 2BB. On 5th he raises me and I was sure he had either AA88 or the spade flush draw (I saw a bunch of people go crazy with their flush draws). And the 8s was the worst possible card because it made both scenarios possible.
