You were destined to lose the hand but you could have limited the number of chips you lost. When you play in future think before you act about how many chips you need to use to get the desired affect.

If 200 chips gets the guy to fold then why bet 800.

Do not play this hand preflop. Just dump it if you are not in the blinds because early in a tournament hands like that can get you in serious trouble early. And keep in mind this is a freeroll so there is no monetary investment. Players will play extremely loose and fast trying to build a big stack fast. Going bust means nothing to them and if you really do not play the same way you will get too far behind really fast. You may be able to make it to the money but will have little chance of winning. Not saying go all-in everytime you can but calling all-ins with flush draws and straight draws early is not the worst strategy in the world to build a stack.

I was in the blinds & I do realize that it was a freeroll ( but this invite freeroll paid $5,000.00 )

I would dump this hand in a heartbeat if a big raise was fired at me or I wasn't in the blinds.

But , I was not "Destined" to lose , As some may put it !!

I understand the fact that I could gain results with a smaller bet (200 not 800 etc. ) -But I wanted to put him to the test for all his chips & I knew I had the best hand while doing so.

Destined to Lose......wow - I just don't understand that ??.....in a way that statement is as bad as someone thinking the poker sites are rigged.

Wow.............Skid 1

Did you know you had the best hand on the flop too? You seem to skip over that you called a big raise with a weak ace and got lucky when a 3-outer hit the turn

What on earth does that have to do with someone claiming that online-poker is rigged? Some hands you lose no matter how you play them. Thats just the way it is. I don't know if I would call that raise on the flop though...

preflop, you could call, and betting out was also ok, but if you are going to call a raise like that you are going to be a losing player overall.

This is the first hand. When you get reraised you should have folded. That you got a beat doesn't matter, that's just poker.

Just out of curiousity. If the turn would have been a 2c, what where you going to do? Check or bet?

And if you check and your opponent bets $400, what then? Call/fold?

Or if you bet and your opponent minraises you?

You should have folded this hand and continue with 1420 chips.

Putting someone at a test for all their chips isn't going all in, it's betting enough to let them know that if they call they'll end up all in at some stage in the hand (watch twoguns $215 turbo SnG video). The reason you don't understand this is because you're a dreadful poker player, incapable of heeding advice from better players that know what they're talking about.

Destined to lose a hand is where you have the better hand but there's no chance of you pushing the other guy off his because his is good too. Then he hits his river. I thought common sense would prevail, but.........
