Default AA cracked but the nerve

I can take a bad beat it's happened enough that I'm better at not letting it get to me, but the guy actually told me I sucked afterwards and that i should of never called. No HH but this will do.

Pokerstars .10/.25 SH NL

Me - 8.75
Villian - 11.25

I'm in the SB dealt AA

UTG folds
Villan raises to .75
Seat 2 and 3 fold
Me raise to 1.25
BB folds
Villan calls

Flop T 5 8

Villan goes all in
I instantly call

Turn (Q)
River (9)

Couldn't belive it he hits his runner runner holding (JJ)

Then he tells me I'm stupid for calling his all in. I don't think so.

Rant over

First off, it goes without saying he's a retard for what he said, you just gotta shrug off stupid comments like that and laugh at him. Then go back and get your money, and his, from him.

I would have raised more than just 50 cents on his pf raise. At a minimum, make it $1.75-$2 and see if he is serious. Your reraise is giving you no insight to what he has. He only raised 3xBB, and you're only asking for 2 more BB. Pretty much anyone will call that and you have no idea what he's got. Make him at a minimum double his initial bet, and then you get a better idea where you stand.

Just my opinion.

I just have a personal distaste for slowplaying big pairs, which is what I was guessing you might be doing?

It's my belief that if you look at all of the "AA got cracked" posts, more than 50% of them started with a slowplay attempt. Not worth it, in my opinion. Others will disagree for sure.

Nope I agree. No sympathy with anyone who slowplays and then get's bit in the ass by it. (Although here your opponents just an idiot, what's he representing? Don't think anyone with TT is going to just open shove with it there, check-raise AI now that's different considering the stack sizes)

Sometimes it may be necessary but in a cash game if I don't know the players that well so I feel I HAVE to deceive them (especially this low) that raise goes to $2.50 to see if he REALLY wants to play.

It's better to over-bet big pairs and complain about getting no callers than it is to under-bet them and complain about a bad beat. Taking the blinds is progress. Is it a waste of a hand like AA? Everyone that ever had their aces cracked has said the same thing: "I can't believe I slowplayed those" or "I knew I should have made a bigger raise" or "why did I let you stay in?" Pocket aces make us all do some crazy things that we regret. We subconsciously think we can't be beat and often play them completely wrong.

Overbet. Overbet. Overbet. I can not stress that enough with big pocket pairs preflop in the micro games. Almost guaranteed one caller if the table's donkey enough. Otherwise, stupid play on his part, and don't mini-re-raise on your part.

If the OP had more money, you could make a case for reraising more (I would have made it $1.75-2), but his raise isn't that bad. He wants to get all of his money in with that stack against an isolated opponent and that's what he did. I don't think that this qualifies as a AA got cracked by slowplaying story at all.

Remember, you have to factor in stack sizes into play.

I really have a hard time having sympathy for somebody who's aces got cracked after a min-reraise. Sucks though but never min reraise at a cash table again!

In poker, the person who says never is the one who never sees it coming.
