Default I like live poker so much better

Hi everybody,

I absolutely love live poker! Every week and me and a group of work collegues meet up at someones house and get the chips and table out. This week there was 10 of us, and we always play winner takes all, with the odd occasion where the final two players will split the cash pot.

The thing is though, the guys who I play against are not really into the pot odds/implied odds/position etc etc of the game. They wont fold pocket pairs for anything and will play right down to the river with a ragged ace.
While I am fully aware of position and odds, I can lay down monster starting hands without a hitch when 3 people go all in pre-flop (it happened once and no one could believe I would fold pockets tens in a 4 way all in pot).

This has given me huge advantages over the past few weeks.

There was this one hand where I had Q3 on the small blind and called everybodys limps. I turned two pair and won the hand taking a hefty chip stack from the big blind who had QT.
I got alot of verbal abuse from him because he couldn't understand why I was playing with Q3, but the pot odds were so large I didnt think twice about calling the bet and was lucky enough to hit two pair.

With the advantage of position and odds I also get very good reads off the players eyes. I simply look at their eye movements on the cards on the table, if they are constantly looking at one side of the board I know which cards they will likely to have.

With my knowledge of poker compared to the other players, I will be chip leader most of the time and so far will break even or walk out with profit.
What makes it more exciting to me is that I don't divulge on my knowledge and the guys always think I hit my hands all the time.

Its wonderful

HI,

yeah that sounds nice, but where is the challenge if ur friends
are all fishs? but right, live poker is fun, but there are also contras
in comparison with online poker.
Normally at live poker u have just a few hands in a long time, so u cant play a lot
and then bad luck.... online multitabling is more profitable but of course its fun to play
with friends.

bye

I'd like it if there were never any challenge in poker.

Yeah, playing against fish sucks. You want to find a couple of tight online games and forget about that super-easy live game.

The thing is though....... im not that good! but I can win against them so im liking it lol

There is one guy there who is rock solid, like i mean titanium rock solid. He is extremely predictable. He never bluffs and if he raises he has only a monster. I tried to bluff him with Q high, unfortunetely he had an ace high straight which I should have realized but I felt like being a bit crazy at the time.
But this rock guy could win so many more games is he loosened up a bit. He plays heads up like its a 10 hand table and its really fustrating watching him lose all his chips over and over and over again. In the past 2 poker sessions (around 12 games) he made heads up 4 times with a dominating chip stack (once against me) and 3 times he got busted out.

But you cant really give him any advice because he sort of takes it of an insult, like saying... "I know how to play, just I didnt get the cards at heads up"

As you can probably guess, he is a prime person to be heads up against

The only thing better than a Fish is a Fish that refuses to improve.
