I think this almost entirely read dependent
From my experience there are some players at this level that would call down with a pair of 6's but against a decent player I probably check 6th street.

Against an unknown I probably bet 6th street since I run into more calling station than decent players. He easily could be "putting" you on 5's thinking his 6's are good.

TY for the (only) reply. I figured he had the 6.

Turns out i was right (only had 6), but he ended up sucking out on 7th street. Oh well.

I agree it is a read dependent hand. I just couldn't imagine what he would have under, that he would play like that, that would give him the better hand.
