Default I flopped quads and lost

You grizzled vets have heard this all before, but I've been playing 3.5 years or so.

I do play a lot, very low stakes, but that pot had 20 big bets in it, fortunately only 7 or 8 mine (I could look it up, but I'm feelin' lazy).

I had 77, flop came 7 T 7, and a T came on 4th street, and my remaining opponent, of course had TT.

In spite of that big loss, I wound up coming back and closed at a profit for the day.

But after losing w/quads on flop, I'm now entitled to Allen Cunningham's "Hundred dollars, please" to hear a bad-beat story!!

That is pretty sick since the flop action makes no sense and durrr should have won the pot on the flop.

Durrrrrr is obviously a great player, but he's also an extreme luckbox. Phil Hellmuth might actually have got one correct for a change.

@ OP, quads/quads sucks.

What could Durrr have been thinking SIL had? SIL showed strength early, but then ceded control of the betting. Did Durrr think SIL was bluffing from jump? If Durrr put SIL on two high cards, he was still behind. SIL called two healthy bets, so he HAD to have something, right?

The point is, how many outs did Durrr think he had? 8 for a straight, and I suppose a 5 or 7 /could/ be good if SIL was merely on AK. But if SIL has any pair or a T (VERY likely with this betting pattern) he needs at least a straight. If SIL had a small pair, he'd likely have raised to prevent being counterfeited, so I'd put him on a big pair or a T, or possibly 77 or 55.

So Durrr's trying to represent a T, a boat, or perhaps a big pair, but what could he think SIL has that wouldn't call an all-in?

I flopped quads and checked to lose on the turn b4, quad 8s lost to j9s......but it is pretty insane that he was even in the hand at all. what bad luck that he caught the str8 flush instead of the flush........guess it pays to hunt for runner runner backdoors. if that happened at absolute poker in a jackpot ring game you would get paid bad beat jackpot is at 147k right now I think the bulk goes to the quads and 2cd most goes to the str8 flush and the other players at table get paid off as well. Not rubbin it in just saying there is one place that when that happens its a good thing.
