When I lose a tournament where I'm close to winning it, I usually slam my table pretty loud and go out for a smoke while rethinking where I went wrong.

I wouldn't be so quick to blame TV poker. I would wager it's something more in the neighborhood of poor upbringing / sub-par schools / eating paint chips and other various household toxins. If they didn't have poker to yell (or type) nonsensically about, they would just stand on the street corner and scream obscenities.

I usually say a simple, hypocritical, and educated "sorry" when I suckout and nothing else on no other situations.

Never apologize for a suckout. Always adopt a huge shit-eating grin, open your eyes really wide, and like Ed McMahon introducing Johnny Carson say "Thaaaaaat's Poker!"

People LOVE this.

Yes, ty poker gods my AA was not sucked out again by 72 hitting a four card str8...as happened so many times with preflop Ais with AA and KK

Actually, to busy saying "yes" to myself to say anything to them

If someone traps me and I'm all-in w/a significantly worse hand (33 to AA for example), and I suck out on them, I'll say "sorry", because the guy played it right, when I saw the cards flipped over I'm cyber-grabbing my coat and getting up. And I really am sorry, because I'm PISSED when T5 suited beats my QQ.

If it goes the other way, I don't say anything UNLESS my opponent has been acting like Mini-Hellmuth or raising like a complete maniac. Then I'll say something like "boom" or I might use Joseph Hachem's "PASS THE SUGAR!"

But if everyone is playing and acting like gentlemen and you can feel the respect, I won't say a thing. I wish that were the case more.

I agree.

I absolutely hate the Matusow and Hellmuth type of players. So if I give them a bad beat, I let myself go... mostly by saying "Katching!!".

Not that smart actually, 'cause I'm just putting me down to their level.
AND sometimes I catch myself just going after those guys, resulting in a couple of bad beats myself

I have to say my favorite feeling is sucking out on AA or KK and then taunting the guy for being such a donk to push preflop with those weak ass hands.
