Default you have to make the call

you get called to a table to see a multiway pot on the turn with a flop already dealt out and the action complete. then when dealing the turn the dealer kills a card and instead deals another flop. what is your call?

he either burns that card face up and deals a new turn

or the hand is over and everybody gets his chips back

redealing the flop doesnt make much sense

joking? that would never happen.

Haven't seen this exact scenario but I've seen the dealer flip over two cards on the turn where they are stuck together. In each case, the true turn card that was on top stayed as the turn and the other card was either burned face up (which made sense to me) or shuffled in to the remaining deck depending on the casino or the whims of the floorman.

In the case of three cards, I think the true turn card should still play, the true river burn card should be burned face up and the third card reshuffled. It wouldn't surprise me to see both of the extra cards shuffled though (or for that matter any number of other odd rulings).

Kc's suggestion of reshuffling all three shouldn't happen since the flop action is complete. If the turn was exposed prior to flop action being complete then it would have to be reshuffled but the turn card in this case is on time.

i agree i thought the turn should stay as is and if action needs to go to the river I said both cards were dead and the top card was going to be the new river. i didnt have long to think of it but I almost went with the reshuffle of the river.

I have seen the erroneous flop returned to the remainder of the deck and reshuffled but the burn card stayed on the table. A new turn was dealt without a burn.

First card from second flop which is supposed to be the turn stays as turn. Remaining cards shuffled into the deck, burn and turn river after action, etc.

If it is unknown which card would have been the turn, shuffle whole wrong flop back in and burn and turn as normal.

Just turn, as the burn has been done already.

Burn rule is a discussion for another day.

But then the players know two of the cards that are being reshuffled in the deck and can discount them from the other players' hands.

Not such a big deal on a flop, but since it is the turn there are less cards left in the equation and that does adjust the odds a bit.
