Default Set Fish

BTN: $37.01
Hero (SB): $96.54
BB: $72.74 39/15/1.2AGG FISH
UTG: $31.98
CO: $53.02
Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is SB with 6 6
UTG raises to $2, 1 fold, BTN calls $2, Hero calls $1.75, BB calls $1.50
Flop: ($8.00) 4 6 A (4 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $8.00, UTG folds, BTN folds, Hero raises to $18, BB calls $10
Turn: ($44.00) Q (2 players)
Hero bets $30.00, BB calls $30
River: ($104.00) T (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $22.24, Hero calls $22.24

I felt like I played this hand bad even though I got all the money. Here's my reasoning.

I c/r the flop small because I don't want to fold the fish's weaker ace and if he has the fd, he might just shove over - which is what I want.

The turn flush is annoying, not because I put him on that, but because he probably puts me on it. It has to be a bet, but a shove looks too strong I think.

The river I think I played the worst. By checking, I allow him to play it perfectly by shoving it if he has the flush.

What are your thoughts?

normally i lead out with sets, ymmv, but after the flop just keep betting. if he gets to the river he can't really fold much. he has an ace far more often than he has the flush or a busted draw. you're missing value by checking the river, he's not very aggressive.

Ya given his stats you can tell he likes to call and isn't very aggressive. Not betting the river is def a mistake.

FWIW, I like my flop raise size. I can get the money in easily by the river and I keep his weaker hands along that put me on a flush, especially if the flush misses on the turn.

do you think he ever bluffs river with 75 or something I cant imagine, or bet for value something he would fold, ever ? Thats an atrocious line

also BB is donking on the flop into 4 people... hes not bet folding a lot there, so make him pay

Plan A is pushing turn, if possible

* also youre allowing him to play better on the river by checking back AK or even 2pairs, not by letting him shove a flush... just mentionning

Yeah for sure, the check on the river was horrible.

in short: lead the flop; after checking and having the option to c/r, get allin by the turn

If the hand is the same but the board is monotone, is leading out still the prefered?
