Default SCOOP #1 Stakewatch Thread

This event is a 6-Max No Limit Hold Em Freezeout that starts at 13:00 EST, with 10,000 in starting chips and 15-minute levels throughout. I'm looking at the structure and it seems to be incredibly slow. To compare, the Warm Up that usually takes place at this time also starts with 10k chips, but 3 hours in, the 13th level is 1k/2k/200 in the Warm Up but only 350/700/85 in the SCOOP event. The antes also start much earlier, with a 10 ante starting level 4 (50/100/10) compared to the Warm Up which doesn't have antes until level 7 (250/500/25). Finally, the ante is far more substantial in the SCOOP event, the Warm Up takes until level 12 for the ante to get up to 10% of the BB and then that is the standard, in the SCOOP event the antes are 10% of BB at level 4, but increase to 12.5% of the BB from level 5 onward.

So there. That's an in-depth study of the structure then. Looks like it will be a loooooooong tournament.

I will be playing the Low and Medium tournaments of this event. The Low is a $22 buy-in with a guarantee of $250,000. The Medium is a $215 buy-in with a guarantee of $1,000,000.

To stakers : You are encouraged to participate in this thread and offer your support. If you would like to sweat me, that is fine as well. The only thing I ask if you are sweating me is to keep the observer chat to a minimum. Absolutely nothing that could be construed as strategy should be said, and I would prefer that you not even say hi or good luck unless I am deep. I don't mean to be a dick, but it affects the perceptions of others at the table. If you would like to talk to me personally, I will be on IRC for that purpose.

To players : Post your chip counts and hand histories! This thread is more about the event then my stake, you are encouraged to participate. The more the merrier and all that.

Was thinking of playing this one, but your comments about its length kinda put me off. 10 hour tourny?

Very best of luck this month - run hot!

Well that was fucking lame. You gotta love people paying you off trying to make their hand cause they think you're a station (but not having odds to do so). You gotta hate it when they get there every fucking time.
