Default Checking Behind

So everyone knows that its the standard to c-bet every flop when HU (and usually 3 way) after a preflop raise.

Do you think this is optimal?

Are there any boards you think a cbet is bad with a certain hand?

What hands should you ck behind on certain boards to have a balanced range?

For this thread lets say all hands are played HU with two component players, both are playing ~90% of hands and the BB has an aggressive ck raising range on the flop.

For example:

On a flop 5d4d3d

Should I cbet everything?

Or should I check with some hands like sometimes with complete air (9c8c) and sometimes with a decent draw + a little showdown like Kd7s or As9d that can always call the turn and often on the river and maybe occasionly with a hand that hit hard for balance.

How about on a flop like 8s9sJc?

Having a sick aggression factor HU, one sometimes have to check behind to avoid making Villain think that you have completely lost the check and/or fold button.

I like to check hands that can have strong reverse implied odds...

5d4d3d -> Rarely check air, but feel free to check Kdx, Qdx, Jdx imho EDIT: Doh, make that more like [J-8]dx

8s9sJc -> Not sure about this one, but 78o can check here I guess

EDIT: I must have thought I was in the NL forum, but I still think my post is not completely off.

EDIT: My post IS completely off. Sorry for existing in this universe.

EDIT (2010-08-27): Could we get an opinion from anyone else on this topic????
My ability to kill discussion threads has certainly improved since I joined this forum....
