Default Turned nut flush, river pairs ace, opponent instashoves

Here's an interesting hand. I don't have any reads on the player in question, except that he has seen a lot of flops and has not been out of line as yet, and his shove on the river was relatively quick. He's from Sweden if that helps, lol.

I'll take a stab even though I'm not the greatest. Feel free to rip me a new one, it's the only way I'll get better.

What do you beat other than a bluff? You mentioned that he hasn't done anything out of line, so I'd give him credit. His call on the flop means he's hit something whether it's a draw or two pair or even a set. His call on the turn means he still likes his hand.
His lead on the paired board says he either has a boat or doesn't think you have one.

Maybe I'm nitty, but I'd put him on ATxx, A7xx 77xx TTxx KQJx maybe a lower flush, or his read on you says he can get you to fold to a scare card, but if you don't have much of a read on him, he probably doesn't have much of one on you. Anyway, I'd fold. Paired rivers suck when it don't help you.

I'm curious to know what others think since I'm in this situation a lot as well and without a read, I usually give them credit.

He would have to be turning a small flush into a bluff...

Very unlikely at 1/2

Fold, the sweden factor makes a little closer but still fold

If the 2 or 7 paired it would be a lot closer (he may turn top two into a bluff with blockers)

Okay I'm glad to hear this. This was exactly my thinking (even the point on the 2 or 7 versus the ace was something I thought about at the time).

One additional point I thought about was that the ace is the riskiest card for him to bluff, because it's entirely possible I'm going to be holding ATxx along with whatever else I have (e.g. flush), so it's all the more unlikely to be a bluff.

That said, the Sweden factor did tempt me. LOL.

That's what I did. I said I agreed with Joey's reasoning entirely, and Joey said fold.
