Default Official NFL Survivor Pool Thread

Ok who's got winners this year? I thought this thread had some good advice last year.
In my pool 3 trips to Vegas are on the line, so let's have some winners if you got 'em

As usual week 1 is full of pitfalls and potential upsets.

Looks like a lot of strong teams are opening up on the road this year.
One "go against" team for me looks like Arizona. Any other teams that you think are a safe "go against" team?

One stickout to me is Ravens at home vs the Bengals.

Week 1, who ya got?

I would not touch the AFC North for the first couple weeks this season as their division games always seem to include flukes and to me they are one of the divisions with the most questionmarks regarding talent/age/potential success.

I am not sure how survivor pools work, are these the leagues where you can only pick one team once per season trying to get consecutive wins during entire season? Are the games picked straight up or against a spread?

If so I am not sure the best overall strategy to use but I don't think anything good is going to happen to Miami this year and Houston should kick their ass by 21 points.

No Spreads are involved. Just pick 1 winner every week but you can only use a team once.
Don't feel any Tannehill love? I like the kid but he has no recievers and yes, the texans are a team I'm looking at

I don't feel any Dolphins love, they are not a good organization from the top down, and shit rolls downhill.

So in these eliminator challenges it seems like the best strategy is to go for sure things early to try to build a streak at the expense of having tougher choices later on in the season. Is that right?

Week one is almost always the easiest, if you lose then a superbowl favorite really messed up or you suck. let me check out the matchups.

Yes, unless you are quite sure an average to above average team has a great shot that they won't have down the road.

Such as Seattle visiting a decent East coast team.

In order from best to worst POSSIBLES:

dolphins vs. TEXANS - No brainer, this is the easy week 1 pick.

redskins vs. SAINTS - Rookie QB going up against a top 3 offense. I think the saint's D will be fine this year. a Redskins victory would be a huge upset esp in the superdome.

cowboys vs. GIANTS - superbowl championship teams almost always win week 1 and Dallas' line is pathetic while the Giants pass rush is elite

rams vs. LIONS - You could just pick against the Rams the majority of the season and be fine.

colts vs. BEARS - Rookie QB playing outside against a good defense and improves offense = loss.

bengals vs. RAVENS - I don't like the Ravens much this year, but they should mop up a less than impressive Dalton at home on Monday night.

Giants are the first defending champ since 03 to lose the season opener. Had to happen sometime i guess.

The giants are predictably unpredictable and i would recommend staying away from picking them in survivor this year as evidenced by the Seattle game last year.

oh in case your forgot:

Is pretty useful.

My pick is still the Texans so i'll be there in week 2.
