Default 3 years later: Better chances playing the lottery

3 years ago i posted here trying to get tips on how to be a winner. I ended up a loser. I've lost $20,000, on top of my $30,000 student loan debt. That means I'm negative -$50,000 at the age of 24, which means im going to spend my youth scrubbing shit out of toilets for minimum wage.

It'll probably take about 5-8 years of minimum wage full time to get it back, and I'll probably be dead by then because I'll either have destroyed my body from the stress of crappy work and shitty pay, or I'll have killed myself.

In the meantime, I'll play scratch offs and maybe I can live a happy life.

Thanks for trying people.

What's your degree in? What are you good at doing? I'm sure there's something more than minimum wage type stuff.

Go cry us a river. Pull yourself up and stop sucking at stuff. Apply for a real job or internship and repeat until you get one. Everything you do or don't do is your fault or your accomplishments

You personally just aren't cut out for poker on an intellectual level. We've tried to help but you just don't understand the necessary concepts and don't take the steps necessary to fix your leaks despite being told repeatedly what they are

If you're going to work for min wage (college isnt for everyone) I recommend moving outside of the US, in Australia the min wage is around $15us/hr and its very easy to get a no-qualifications needed $20/hr job.

My advice for you is to never gamble again because you are bad at it and to get a job earning decent money in a field you're qualified to do with your limited intellect (that's not meant as an insult even though it seems as such, plenty of tradesmen miners etc who work in manual labour make six figures)

Once you have enough money then you have plenty of options in life.

You should not spend any money playing poker and you definitely should seek coaching if you decide not to quit gambling.

yeah but in australia a pint of milk costs $27 and you'd be accused of being some kind of poofta for drinking it anyway.

also australia has pretty strict immigration requirements, which according to my research watching border patrol: australia's front line are as follows:

1. no pooftas.
2. no fruits (see 1.) or vegetables.
3. no crazy chinese people who can't speak english and whose luggage consists entirely of insects and/or drugs.
4. no vietnamese people who are just here on holiday with $22 on their person, a suitcase full of work clothes and a printed out email from a farmer in woomera.

i'm concerned that you equate intellect with education and profession. i've met plenty of people doing manual jobs who could beat the piss out of six figure salaried suits intellectually.

no he shouldn't. coaching would just be more burnt money.

@shitforbrains money does not equal success, and neither money nor success equal happiness. would you rather be rich, successful or happy? only one of these really matters, because if you are happy, who cares if you are rich, or successful, or anything else for that matter? find what makes you happy and do that.

this is the word of the Lord.

Cost of living vs wages isn't even close, if you're a min wage worker you're much better off in Europe or Australia than the US. It's not remotely close.

Re: intellect vs profession, obviously it's not exclusive but as someone living in North Queensland, which is the Australian equivalent of the deep south, trust me, the average tradesman/manual labourer/miner is nowhere near as intelligent as the average white collar worker. Feudallord does not strike me as being particularly high on the IQ scale but that doesn't mean he can't make good money in one of many lines of work, that said something intellect/math heavy like playing online poker for a living or being an investment banker probably doesn't work for him, but that doesn't mean he's incapable of making good money if he finds the right line of work.

I'm still alive, banned myself on betonline, americas cardroom, and carbon poker, and started playing live. Two weekends ago was my 2nd live game, bought in for $80 @ 1/2 and cashed out $537 after 3 hours of play. Last weekend I went to atlantic city and won $44 after an hour of play at 1/2. Tomorrow I play live again, wanna help?

Basically my strats have changed. I try and mix it up when I'm up 50+ bb, but for start it's all about position and more what the opponent holds than what you hold. And pot odds.

A cool hand two weeks ago at 2nd live game was 69 off UTG, I limp. Several callers, one raise to 7, 7 players call including myself.

flop: 7c 8c Ts

It goes check, check, all in, all in, all in, then tome, all in. Was up against 2 flush draws and KK. $400 pot lelz

Well congratufukinlations on your winnings! now put in the bank and fogetaboutit .The fuking game sucks and is just an exercise in frustration . 95% of online players lose and it takes tons of skill, experiance and brains to win live . The lure of fame and easy money has taken its toll on many a common delusional rounder.

Truth is your better off playing pocket pool or lawn darts . At least when some brianless twit makes a stupid play you can penetrate his calf with an accurate toss of a very sharp object or give him a few bruises with a stick or the ball.
