German Virgins
Poker Glossary
Also known as Wayne Gretzky.
Two nines (99) as a starting hand is called German Virgin, because the English number "nine", sounds like the German word "nein", which means "no" in English. So when you say "nine, nine" it sounds like you say "no, no" in German. The rest, why it is called German Virgin, I won't explain here and it is up to you to figure that out!
