Jack Singer (Nicholas Cage) is a man afraid of commitment. However, he finally decides to tie the knot with his girlfriend in Vegas. Unbeknownst to him, a wealthy gambler (James Caan) falls in love with Cage's girlfriend (Sarah Jessica Parker) because she reminds him of his ex-wife. The gambler arranges for Singer to lose $65k to him in a poker game and makes a deal with Singer to erase the debt provided he is allowed to have a weekend with his fianc.

Poker Action

There is one major poker scene. It is a game of five card draw, Cage's character loses $65k. The poker scene is completely ridiculous. First, they are playing no limit five card draw, which is rarely, if ever played. Furthermore, Cage is allowed to rebuy during the hand. This is a clear no-no in poker, which is always played at table stakes. Any serious poker player will clearly find the poker scene revolting, so take it with a grain of salt.
