Card Player 2005 Player of the Year Announced

, 2006-01-02, by TwoGun

The 2005 Card Player "Player of the Year" went to a man who is no stranger to the award. For the fourth time in his brilliant poker career, Men 'the Master' Nguyen was awarded the title following his consistent high money finishes in 2005. Men's largest cash of the year was a relatively modest $243,000 for finishing 2nd at the Indiana WSOP Circuit Event.

The Card Player POY award runs off of a points system. Men Nguyen won the award with 4,604 points in 2005. A relatively close second, John Phan, tallied 4,428 points throughout the year.

Rounding out the top five was 2005 WSOP POY Allen Cunningham with 3,841 points, Michael Gracz (3,840), and Michael 'the Grinder' Mizrachi (3,801).

More details can be found on the Cardplayer Website.
