High Stakes Poker TV Show Premiers Tonight

Television, 2006-01-16, by TwoGun

A new poker TV show called High Stakes Poker will premier tonight at 9:00 pm EST on GSN (formerly known as the Game Show Network). Viewers will see the world's best poker players bet with their own money in a high stakes game of no-limit hold'em.

The players participating in this show are not being sponsored by corporations. All of the money being wagered has been put up by the participating gamblers. The minimum buy-in for this cash game is $100,000, though some players bought in for a million.

Viewers will see poker players such as Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, and Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss (and many more) battle it out for pots that reach well into six-figures.

The show will span over 13 episodes from the footage recorded at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. For air times, check out our tv listings for High Stakes Poker.
