WSOP Circuit Event #6: Grand Casino Tunica $10k NL Hold'em

WSOP, 2006-01-29, by TwoGun

Daniel Negreanu dominated the poker world and went on to win Player of the Year in 2004. Most expected an equally brilliant performance out of Daniel in 2005, but he was unable to deliver. Now, after a year of being stuck in a rut, Negreanu has captured a major tournament victory once again.

The Grand Casino Tunica Poker Tournament, hosted in Tunica, Mississippi, culminates with a $10,000 buy-in WSOP Circuit Event. An impressive 241 entrants participated in this tournament, which resulted in a fine $755,000 payday for Negreanu.

Bryant King fell to Negreanu heads up but earned $416,000 for the performance. Professional Lee Markholt finished 4th to win $183,000. Actor turned Circuit Event final table fixture Chad Brown won $45,000 for 9th place.

The Circuit rolls on at Harrah's Atlantic City in mid-February. There are five Circuit Events left before the World Series of Poker begins this summer.
